from Portraits

I started drawing black & white pencil portraits in 1977, then moved on to colored pencil, acrylic painted portraits and eventually oil painted portraits. After 1,000 satisfied recipients - I stopped counting.

to Commercial Art

I went door to door visiting advertising agencies and businesses (back in the early 1980's to 1990's when the world was more "normal") and picked up commissions creating illustrations for individuals, privately owned companies and advertising agencies.

to Medical Illustration

Back in the day (this is what ol' timers say) I wanted to be a Medical artist. So, I went after it - studying and drawing anatomy and physiology projects until I attained the coveted position at a Military teaching hospital in my hometown of El Paso / Ft Bliss, TX. (1989 to 1996). Everyone I knew in the art world of illustrators and graphic designers were either proud of me or seriously jealous. That's my story, and I’m sticking to it.
